History of Zeltnerschloss

Zeltnerschloss was founded about 1370, but was destroyed and rebuilded for many times. The history continues: in 1504 destroyed during the Landshut War of Succession, rebuilded in 1523, destroyed in 1552 during the Second Margrave War, rebuilded in 1569, destroyed in 1943 during the Second World War and finally rebuilded in 1955.

During the ages Zeltnerschloss has gone through the hands of many various owners. Founded by Conrad Stromer, followed by Konrad Groß and many others till 1920, when Reichsbahn (Empire Railway) took over. Since 1981 the Zeltnerschloss belongs to the city.

Zeltnerschloss today

Today’s Zeltnerschloss is a home of Amt für Kultur und Freizeit (Bureau of culture and free time activities). Many various events are being held here every year. You can relax in theirs café, which is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm till 5:00 p.m.
